Abby Primo's Scribe Notes!
· Because we were the first period of the day, we began class with prayer.
· Mrs. Gill was confused if it was period four or two.
· Maddie got her scribe put up at back to school night.
· Mrs. Gill thinks the scribe notes could get her in trouble.
· The scribe notes disappeared! DUH DUH DUHHHHHHHHHH
· Where’s Max?
He’s sick L.
· Where’s Libby?
A weddingL.
She’s in New Orleans!
· Hannah missed a car party!
· We went over yesterday’s scribe notes written by my brother Chris and he read them alloud. Applause!
· The narrator of the scribe notes for Per. 2 was Phil the Pen
· Mrs. Gill got her classes figured out!
· Mrs. Gill doesn’t want me giving a wrong impression…
· The journal was “cool power”. 141 and Manchester had a small nuclear bomb dropped on it and gave everyone superpowers. We had to come up with a superpower and write how our power was the coolest. The background song today was “Superman” by Goldfinger.
* Mrs. Gill said that we needed to know the difference between cool and lame.
* Frankie read his journal aloud. He could tell if the door was locked by looking at it.
§ He saved lives by leading them to the only open door.
§ He didn’t have to look for keys.
§ We were not sure if this was a lame or cool superpower.
* I read my journal about time travel
§ Mrs. Gill thinks mine is cool (:
§ Mrs. Gill doesn’t want me to disappear from the face of the earth
* Joe attempted to read his journal but was rejected because he reads his so much.
* Tyler read his journal about super speed.
§ He was able to catch robbers without them even knowing it.
§ He rescued hostages.
§ He even wrote an account of saving someone. A man was going to jump off a building, and the police tried to intervene. Tyler showed up in an instant and saved the day!
* Will read his journal about his super animal powers. He was:
§ Fast.
§ Strong.
§ Able to camouflage himself.
§ There was no crime in his town, so Will only used his powers to chase kids, throw rocks, and play hide and seek with the other kids.
* Tim read his story about being able to absorb other people’s powers by touching them. He could:
§ Use more than one power at once
§ Only hold a power for so long
* His skin starts to glow when he absorbs too many powers
* Mrs. Gill said this was an original, good idea and the making of a story.
* Jake read his journal about how he could go back in time and would change something if a disaster happens.
* Mrs. Gill doesn’t understand why superheroes hold back their superpowers.
· Mrs. Gill failed a pop quiz
* She swears we have an objective
· Maddie and Joe have a dispute about time travel.
· Mrs. Gill asks our opinion on what the greatest superpower would be.
o All superpowers?
o Mind control?
o Invisibility?
· Will wants to control Mrs. Gill’s mind for no homework.
· Superheroes are romantic in literature which is very important.
· Sam wants a superpower to drive Mr. Taylor crazy.
· Paul forgot his laptop.
· Frankie always squints!
· Mrs. Gill went over personal evaluation for literary memoir: see edline for word document for guidelines.
* Need three specific reading and writing examples in paper
* Need generalization
* Have to have a point
* Proofread!
* You need your voice in the paper!
* Have time in class tomorrow, we are going to evaluate papers
· See Mrs. Gill for technical assistance in regard to group project presentation.
* Going to give us a guide on how to use tumblr and movie maker on edline
* Wants to present Wednesday
· We met in our American value groups.
· Sam can’t draw stick people according to him.
· Our groups worked effectively with our time devising a plan so that each of us could have a specific job.
· The visual poster could be pictures, a drawing, or a collage.
· PowerPoint presentation should include:
o Images
o Definitions
o See standards of assignment on edline
· Mrs. Gill gave out paper to people who needed it.
· Maddie asks if Elvis Presley died on the toilet. Tim commented that this would be a great way to die. We then discussed what would be a great way to leave this world.
o Tim says on the toilet
o Mrs. Gill asked us if we would rather burn to death or freeze to death.
§ Maddie says it depends.
§ Mrs. Gill wants to go out in a blaze of glory
§ Mrs. Gill is happy to know I am writing all of this down.
· Chris thinks the school is freezing except for the gym.
o DubBourg has no air conditioning.
· Today was an effective working day!
Remember: Journals will be collected Tuesday and a paper copy of the literary memoir is due in class tomorrow.
