Jeffrey Seib- First, I am goint to assume that the fifteen dollars from back then is transferred into a modern day probable price such as 200 dollars. Assuming I just happened to cross by 200 dollars, the first thing I would do is invest. I would do this for the hope of getting more money in the future. If I didnt do that, I would automatically save it for a time I need it. Then I would save the other half of it for when I am out with my fiends. I am a frugal person so there is not much I would foolishly spend it on.
I would not choose to spend my money the same way she did, although I understand why she spent all the money on herself. In her place, I think I would have spent it all on the children, or at least the majority of it. Personally, I would save it; I am one of those people who never spend their money unless they really want something. If anything, I would most likely spend it on a book because I love to read.
Lauren Corley- If I found any amount of money, I wouldn't be like Mrs. Sommers in the story and end up spending the money on myself even though she planned on spending the money on the needs of her family. I would plan on ssaving the money in case if there was any kind of emergency and I wouldn't be able to get to any other money that I had saved up.
If I found fifteen dollars today, I know I would spend it. If it was only worth $15 dollars I would spend it on food at a place like taco bell because taco bell seems to be a very common place I eat at now days. If it was worth more money today like Jeffery said I would maybe by gas for my car because gas is expensive or maybe new clothes because it’s always good to have nice clothes. I would also save it to do stuff with friends if we were going to do something fun like to see a movie or something. I guess I kind of spend my money like Mrs. Sommer which is on food, clothing, and entertainment. - Tony Scalise
Being that I am very particular with money, I don't think I would spend quite so carelessly like Mrs. Sommer did. If anything I would spend it on food. I am not one to just throw money about, even if I do have an excess. - Marc St. Amour
If I found the fifteen dollars like Mrs. Sommers did I really don’t know what I would do with it. My first inclination would be to buy something for myself that I had wanted. I would probably end up turning it to the police because I know that’s the right thing to do. So I wouldn’t buy anything with it. But if I did decide to spend the money, I would probably spend the money on something practical that I would get a lot of use out of, like a new basketball, or to get my tennis racquet restrung. So that’s really what I would do with my 15 dollars or probably more like 200 if it was the same time period.
Michelle Silva: If I was to be so fortunate to find fifteen dollars today, and taking into consideration that just about everything now costs much more than it used to, I would spend it on myself. If I were a mother and a wife I would take some time for myself and spend that fifteen dollars on me. I might spend it on a lunch out or maybe even go out to see a new movie in theaters.
Kate Antor--If I found fifteen dollars, I would do the same thing that Mrs. Sommers did. If I was a wife and mother at the time and always spent my time and money on my husband and children, it would be nice to take a day to please myself.
