Jennifer Kraemer Discussion Question

If you had the choice of reading some other novel, instead of Huck Finn, that is not considered to be racially controversial, would you choose to read that instead of studying Huck Finn? Why or why not? (Both books are equally difficult to read and study, the only difference is the racial controversy)

I think I would still read Huck Finn because it is a classic novel that many students and adults have read in the past. I would like to be able to talk with them about it and have a good conversation. I think that since the other book will be equally difficult to read and study I think it will be more interesting to read Huck Finn. I also think it is important to learn about the racial controversy and how people were treated back then. I think this book will be a new way for me to look at racial controversy in our history and might help me understand it better.
