Zack Mushinski's Awwww YEEEAAAH scribe notes

I received the immense responsibility of taking the scribe notes for the day on the 8th of September.  This day, we started class with prayer, per usual, and then Kara read her scribe notes, which she made to look like they came off of a Facebook wall.  After that, we all clapped… well not everyone but a few people did.  Mrs. Gill then read Max’s scribe notes from our period 4 brethren… he used a lot of big words.  I wish I knew what they meant.  After this (and some talk about Harry Potter and Pokémon), we started up the presentations of the day.  First off were Matt, Kara, and Michelle.  As they were starting Mrs. Gill said something about enchiladas… Man I’m hungry.  Then she said something important!  We have to take notes on the presentations.  That’s like… double notes for me.  Andrew’s computer doesn’t work so he runs off to PC hospital.

Then Matt’s group started their presentation off with a Red Hot Chili Peppers song!  The Power of Equality. What a classy tune.  Of course, the speakers don’t work, so while Mrs. Gill is trying to fix them, Matt stands there awkwardly.  Equality is the state of quality of being equal, Gender equality is when men and women are equal, and Racial equality is when race doesn’t matter.  I wish Matt wouldn’t talk so loud… I can’t really hear the Chili Peps song.  Kara and Michelle do a great job doing nothing up there.  Social equality is a social state of affairs in which all people in a society have the same status and equal rights.  Equality in literature?  Their Eyes Were Watching God is a book about black people making their own town after the civil war because of slavery.  Their presentation ends right around here and everyone claps.  But wait!  Michelle explains their poster, which has something about free marriage and Einstein quotes.

NEXT IS FREEDOM!! Just kidding, Andrew’s computer isn’t working, nor is his arm, so they get to go tomorrow.  After that little mishap, Strength is up.  THAT’S MEEEEE.  Zack, Joe and Megan are in our group.  Strength is about being strong, not just in body but mind also.  Superman is an example from American literature, and the World Trade Center is form American history.  We had some pretty cool pictures and a whole lot about the Twin Towers.  Mrs. Gill used to be a fan of body builders!  Joe spelled Megan’s name wrong, and Mrs. Gill likes Arnold Schwarzenegger.

After us is Success!  Mike Kohlberg, Gina, and Blake are in this group.  There’s no way Gina will be able to hold their poster as well as I held our Strength poster…   Success is the achievement of ones worldly desires.  Some examples are… Money!  Power! And…  Spiderman?  Money again! Everyone likes money! But only if you have enough.  Apparently you can buy stuff with money which is a completely new concept for me.  Piles of money are useful I’m told.  And with money comes power!!  Then some talk about family, friends, dreams, the president, independence, Bill gates, Lil’ Wayne, Queen Elizabeth II, and others.  Mrs. Gill explains that some downsides of success are a certain insensitivity of the underdog. We love our armed forces, especially when they are engaged in conflict, but when they return from war and are all messed up, we turn away from them.  Things like OJ’s success aren’t really good either. He murdered his wife, but he got away with it and is known by everyone because of how the news idealizes criminals.  Nicks watching explosions on his laptop, but I’m not putting his name in my scribe notes because he’s been in everyone else’s, and  I’ll be different!  Oh and Gina did a pretty good job holding her poster… not really!

Resourcefulness is up next, with Michael Klein, Emily, and Katrina.  MOUSE TRAP!  Resourcefulness is using what you have to get something accomplished.  Necessity + Creativity + Persistence = Resourcefulness.  This guy made a house out of fish bones! YAY MUSIC!  It’s Ghostbusters theme!  Because Ghostbusters are resourceful!  So is Thomas Edison, who made light bulbs, as was Da Vinci.  Awh Ghostbusters song is over.  That’s a pretty cool poster!  Wait a second…  THEY HAVE 2 POSTERS!  CLASS IS OVERRR!  NO HOMEWORK!  Oh and invention is important.
