A Day in the ACC Period 4 English class

Abby Primo's Scribe Notes!

· Because we were the first period of the day, we began class with prayer.

· Mrs. Gill was confused if it was period four or two.

· Maddie got her scribe put up at back to school night.

· Mrs. Gill thinks the scribe notes could get her in trouble.

· The scribe notes disappeared! DUH DUH DUHHHHHHHHHH

· Where’s Max?

  He’s sick L.

· Where’s Libby?

A weddingL.

She’s in New Orleans!

· Hannah missed a car party!

· We went over yesterday’s scribe notes written by my brother Chris and he read them alloud. Applause!

· The narrator of the scribe notes for Per. 2 was Phil the Pen

· Mrs. Gill got her classes figured out!

· Mrs. Gill doesn’t want me giving a wrong impression…

· The journal was “cool power”. 141 and Manchester had a small nuclear bomb dropped on it and gave everyone superpowers. We had to come up with a superpower and write how our power was the coolest. The background song today was “Superman” by Goldfinger.

*   Mrs. Gill said that we needed to know the difference between cool and lame.

*   Frankie read his journal aloud. He could tell if the door was locked by looking at it.

§ He saved lives by leading them to the only open door.

§ He didn’t have to look for keys.

§ We were not sure if this was a lame or cool superpower.

*   I read my journal about time travel

§ Mrs. Gill thinks mine is cool (:

§ Mrs. Gill doesn’t want me to disappear from the face of the earth

                                 *  Joe attempted to read his journal but was rejected because he reads his so much.

Tyler read his journal about super speed.

§ He was able to catch robbers without them even knowing it.

§ He rescued hostages.

§ He even wrote an account of saving someone. A man was going to jump off a building, and the police tried to intervene. Tyler showed up in an instant and saved the day!

*   Will read his journal about his super animal powers. He was:

§ Fast.

§ Strong.

§ Able to camouflage himself.

§ There was no crime in his town, so Will only used his powers to chase kids, throw rocks, and play hide and seek with the other kids.

*   Tim read his story about being able to absorb other people’s powers by touching them. He could:

§ Use more than one power at once

§ Only hold a power for so long

*   His skin starts to glow when he absorbs too many powers

*   Mrs. Gill said this was an original, good idea and the making of a story.

*   Jake read his journal about how he could go back in time and would change something if a disaster happens.

*   Mrs. Gill doesn’t understand why superheroes hold back their superpowers.

· Mrs. Gill failed a pop quiz

*   She swears we have an objective

· Maddie and Joe have a dispute about time travel.

· Mrs. Gill asks our opinion on what the greatest superpower would be.

o All superpowers?

o Mind control?

o Invisibility?

· Will wants to control Mrs. Gill’s mind for no homework.

· Superheroes are romantic in literature which is very important.

· Sam wants a superpower to drive Mr. Taylor crazy.

· Paul forgot his laptop.

· Frankie always squints!

· Mrs. Gill went over personal evaluation for literary memoir: see edline for word document for guidelines.

*   Need three specific reading and writing examples in paper

*   Need generalization

*   Have to have a point

*   Proofread!

*   You need your voice in the paper!

*   Have time in class tomorrow, we are going to evaluate papers

· See Mrs. Gill for technical assistance in regard to group project presentation.

*   Going to give us a guide on how to use tumblr and movie maker on edline

*   Wants to present Wednesday

· We met in our American value groups.

· Sam can’t draw stick people according to him.

· Our groups worked effectively with our time devising a plan so that each of us could have a specific job.

· The visual poster could be pictures, a drawing, or a collage.

· PowerPoint presentation should include:

o Images

o Definitions

o See standards of assignment on edline

· Mrs. Gill gave out paper to people who needed it.

· Maddie asks if Elvis Presley died on the toilet. Tim commented that this would be a great way to die. We then discussed what would be a great way to leave this world.

o Tim says on the toilet

o Mrs. Gill asked us if we would rather burn to death or freeze to death.

§ Maddie says it depends.

§ Mrs. Gill wants to go out in a blaze of glory

§ Mrs. Gill is happy to know I am writing all of this down.

· Chris thinks the school is freezing except for the gym.

o DubBourg has no air conditioning.

· Today was an effective working day!

Remember: Journals will be collected Tuesday and a paper copy of the literary memoir is due in class tomorrow.
