Kohlberg's Question

In "Winter Dreams," Judy is clearly the love of Dexter's life whom he is never able to let go of. Would you consider Dexter's feelings for Judy as adorable and chivalrous or pathetic and creepy?

In the story “Winter Dreams” I feel as though Dexter’s feelings towards Judy can come off as sweet but also more towards stupidity. At the beginning of the story I think that Dexter’s life was not that bad, he was working hard but that how life is. When Judy enters his life it becomes different. He becomes desperate. Judy said he would only love him if he was rich. I don’t think that is a good relationship. He works hard in his life to become wealthy and soon has fiancĂ©. Once Judy comes back into his life he drops everything. This is somewhat romantic of him but stupid as well. He leaves his fiancĂ© for her but in the end she leaves him for another guy and he loses her all together. So in the end he ends up with no girl with him because he was stupid and made a rash decision. (Annie Reuther)

(Libby Pecher) I think Dexter was being pathetic and a little bit greedy. He had a good life before he met Judy. He had a job and he was engaged, but when he met Judy he went against his better judgement and tried to get something he couldn't have.
